About the role

As a Finance Analyst, you'll act as a finance partner to supply chain and operations teams. You will play a key role in improving financial performance by linking operational drivers such as production activity, material usage, and inventory movements, to financial outcomes. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who wants to build strong manufacturing finance capability and develop a deep understanding of cost drivers across a complex supply environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate and timely month-end close, including reconciliations, reporting, and variance analysis
  • Analyse production, material, and cost variances to identify root causes and support corrective actions
  • Support standard costing processes, including cost updates, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold accuracy
  • Provide visibility of key cost drivers across manufacturing, logistics, and procurement
  • Partner with operations teams to understand production performance and translate it into financial insights
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modelling across supply chain activities
  • Develop and enhance reporting and dashboards (e.g. Power BI) to improve decision-making
  • Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency, productivity, and financial control
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across processes, reporting, and data quality

Requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or CPA/CA qualification
  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret operational data and explain financial outcomes
  • Comfortable working with large and complex data sets, particularly in cost-driven environments
  • Able to clearly articulate cost variances and performance drivers to non-finance stakeholders
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with operations teams
  • Proactive, curious, and solutions-focused, with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Based in Melbourne, with full, unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • It would be advantageous if you also have:
  • Experience in supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, or FMCG environments
  • Exposure to Power BI or similar data visualization tools
  • Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and standard costing methodologies
