About the role

The Service Holder is responsible, within the FPSO team and under the responsibility of the FPSO Commissioning Manager, for all activities related to the Electrical Commissioning of the FPSO . The job holder shall: Lead, organize, supervise and coordinate all electrical pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up and performance testing activities. Act as focal point for Electrical Commissioning with Contractor, Subcontractors, Vendors and Company stakeholders. Ensure all electrical systems are safely energised, tested, and handed over in accordance with project requirements. Manage interfaces with construction, engineering, operations, and other commissioning disciplines. ACTIVITIES HSE & Leadership The service holder shall demonstrate exemplary behaviour with respect to H3SE requirements. The service holder shall ensure strict implementation of Permit to Work (PTW), LOTO, energization procedures and safety rules during commissioning. The service holder will promote a strong commissioning safety culture, especially during live electrical activities. Commissioning Execution Plan and supervise all electrical commissioning activities including: Pre-commissioning (IR/ continuity checks, loop checks) Functional testing of equipment and systems Energization of LV/HV systems Large electrical drives (compressors) Gas Turbine Generators, Diesel Generators (Essential and Emergency), transformers, AC & DC UPS systems Power Management Systems (PMS) including load shedding and blackout recovery Ensure readiness of electrical systems for: Mechanical Completion (MC) Ready for Commissioning (RFC) Achievement of Commissioning (AOC) Ready for Start-up (RFSU) Final Acceptance Contractor & Vendor Management Supervise and coordinate Contractor commissioning teams. Review and approve: Operation Test Procedures (OTP) and test packs System boundaries and handover dossiers Energization plans and method statements Functional testing of equipment and systems Ensure compliance of Contractor activities with the following: Project Key Technical Requirements (KTR) Project Particular Requirement (PPR) Specifications International codes and best practices Interface & Coordination Interface with: Engineering (for design clarifications and technical queries) Construction teams (for punch list and system completion) Other commissioning disciplines (ICSS, mechanical, process, telecom) Ensure alignment between yard activities and offshore readiness. Testing & Systems Integration Lead integrated testing including: Electrical system energization sequences Black start and generator load and parallel operation tests Interface with mechanical packages (e.g. gas turbine generators, large electrical drives etc.), ICSS and control systems Support Start-up and First Oil/ First Gas readiness activities Documentation & Reporting Ensure proper completion and acceptance of commissioning dossiers. Manage punch list tracking and clearance (Category A/B/C). Provide regular reporting on commissioning progress, risks & constraints and mitigation actions. Site/ Yard Role Based in fabrication yard (China initially) and later offshore, the service contract holder will act as: Company representative for electrical commissioning Leader in daily coordination meetings Key decision maker on commissioning priorities and issues CONTEXT & ENVIRONNENT The activity takes place during execution, construction and commissioning phase of a major FPSO project (Suriname Block 58). Key challenges Complex integration of electrical systems across Hull and Topsides as well as with subsea production system High-demand commissioning schedule in yard environment Multi-interface coordination with ICSS, utilities, and process systems Strict HSSE and energization control during live operations Qualifications & Experience Qualification: Electrical Engineering degree Languages: English (mandatory) Minimum 15 years in overall experience. Minimum 10 years in FPSO/ Oil & Gas projects. Strong experience in: Electrical commissioning of fully electrified FPSO, offshore platforms or LNG. Commissioning large power plants is a plus. HV/LV systems, gas turbine generators, diesel generators, switchgears/MCC, AC/DC UPS and large variable frequency drives. Site verification of Electrical System Operating, Protection and Control design and philosophy. Energization and start-up of complex facilities. Technical Knowledge Strong knowledge of international standards (IEC, IEEE, API, Class where applicable) and also Electrical safety practices (LOTO, HV Switching). Familiarity with commissioning management systems and dossiers and interfaces with large mechanical packages (GTG, compressors, pumps etc.) and ICSS/ automation systems. Starting date: ASAP Duration: Up to end of the Project Location: Initially Yard in China and later offshore Suriname as required Status (residential/rotational): Residential
