Under the general supervision of the Director of Oncology Clinical Medicine, the Oncology Clinical Coordinator Supervisor provides collaborative leadership and operational oversight for the oncology department's patient referral and intake processes. This position is dedicated to managing, mentoring, and supporting the Clinical Coordinator team to ensure high-quality, efficient, and patient-focused coordination for oncology referrals and admissions. This role also acts as a Clinical Coordinator as needed, directly supporting patient referrals and intake and the team during periods of high demand or staff absence. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop, implement, and sustain reliable, streamlined processes for handling all patient referrals and intake requests. The Supervisor is accountable for increasing the likelihood that appropriate patients are able to receive timely treatment at St. Jude by facilitating effective communication with referring providers, ensuring accurate and thorough documentation of recommendations, and coordinating all aspects of patient intake. This role is critical in shaping the first impression and experience for patients and families entering the oncology program. The Oncology Clinical Coordinator Supervisor drives operational excellence by identifying and addressing inefficiencies, standardizing workflows, and leading continuous improvement initiatives related to referral management. The Supervisor also participates in departmental projects and fosters strong multidisciplinary collaboration to support seamless transitions from referral to intake. The Supervisor upholds organizational standards, ensures regulatory compliance, and champions ongoing professional development and quality improvement within the referral and intake process. This role is essential to ensuring that every patient referral is managed with the highest standard of efficiency, clarity, and compassion. Job Responsibilities: Supervise and provide day-to-day leadership for Clinical Coordinators responsible for oncology referral and intake operations, ensuring consistent, high-quality, and patient-centered service delivery Develop, implement, and sustain standardized, streamlined processes for managing all patient referrals and intake requests to improve efficiency, reliability, and patient access Oversee team performance in coordinating patient referrals, intake activities, and multidisciplinary scheduling, ensuring timely processing and seamless transitions into care Ensure effective communication between Clinical Coordinators and referring providers, including timely outreach, information gathering, and clear documentation of clinical recommendations Establish and monitor standards for accurate, thorough, and compliant documentation within referral and intake workflows Guide and support Clinical Coordinators in coordinating all aspects of patient intake, ensuring a smooth, compassionate, and well-organized experience for patients and families Perform the duties of a Clinical Coordinator and provide backup support as needed Hold the team accountable for optimizing patient access by prioritizing appropriate referrals and reducing delays in intake and treatment initiation Drive operational excellence by identifying workflow inefficiencies, removing barriers, and leading continuous improvement initiatives related to referral management and intake processes Standardize processes and implement best practices to ensure consistency, scalability, and sustainability of referral and intake operations Monitor key performance indicators (e.g., turnaround times, referral outcomes, patient experience) and use data to inform decision-making and process improvements Foster strong collaboration between Clinical Coordinators, physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams to support effective care transitions Serve as a liaison between internal teams and external referring providers to ensure alignment, responsiveness, and service excellence Ensure adherence to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards related to referral management and intake operations Lead, mentor, and develop Clinical Coordinators through coaching, performance management, and ongoing professional development opportunities Support onboarding and training initiatives to ensure team competency in referral workflows, systems, and patient communication standards Promote a culture of accountability, compassion, and continuous improvement, reinforcing the importance of the intake experience as the first impression of the oncology program Participate in departmental initiatives, projects, and cross-functional efforts to enhance oncology access and operational effectiveness Allocate resources and manage team workload to align with referral volumes, operational priorities, and service expectations Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and institutional goals Maintains
