Carnegie Mellon University's Division of Student Affairs is searching for a Senior Administrative Coordinator to join the Cohon University Center administrative team to provide administrative and operational support and oversight for the student worker program and key operational areas supporting the Cohon University Center and the Highmark Center Concierge Desk. This role reports to the Director of the Cohon Center and is responsible for hiring, training, and the daily management of student workers, including senior-level student workers, and specialized student roles. The position also supports student worker growth through a holistic student staff development program and ensures consistent, first-class service across facilities. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. An alternate schedule with daily hours totaling 7.5 per day, 5 days per week, can be requested between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., following successful completion of the university's six-month provisional period. Workplace flexibility is determined by department business needs and university policy. During limited peak periods of the year, overtime work may be required. Core responsibilities will include: Student Worker Program and Support Provide daily oversight for the student worker program (approximately 50 students) across the Cohon Center and Highmark Center Concierge Desk. Oversee all hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling. Lead efforts related to student worker retention, assessment, feedback, and evaluation. Supervise Senior‑Level Student Workers (Senior Supervisor and Senior Desk Attendants). Oversee specialized student worker roles and processes including facility inspections, game room operations, and poster management. Administer the CMU‑Grow and holistic student worker development program. Operational Systems & Administrative Management Oversee systems associated with student worker operations, including lost and found, equipment lending, student organization packages, shared email, shift reports, and related workflows. Oversee building staff coverage schedule, ensuring adequate coverage across all service points. Manage shift trades, approve adjustments, and coordinate responses to last‑minute call‑offs to maintain consistent operations. Coordinate specialized operational tasks such as equipment management, office supply tracking, and other administrative functions. Ensure consistent documentation, communication, and adherence to departmental policies and procedures. Cross ‑ Functional Facility & Event Support Serve as a cross‑trained member of the operations team, supporting daily events and facility operations as needed. Collaborate with building partners and campus stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery and operational alignment. Assist with special projects and initiatives that enhance the student worker program or building operations.
