As our Financial Reporting Automation Specialist you'll play a key part in designing, implementing, and maintaining automation solutions across the Group Reporting function. Your drive and ideas will help us move faster, improve smarter, and stay ahead of the game.

Responsibilities

  • You'll take ownership of work that gives us our competitive edge, including:
  • Financial reporting process automation
  • Identify and automate repetitive IFRS and financial reporting tasks, including data extraction, transformation, mapping, and journal processing.
  • Design and implement Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions to streamline reporting workflows.
  • Develop scalable automation solutions aligned with Group reporting requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation of automated processes and workflows.
  • System integration and enablement
  • Integrate automation tools with ERP and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with IT and finance teams to ensure seamless data flow between systems.
  • Optimise system capabilities to support automated IFRS reporting.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve automation and systems-related issues impacting reporting processes.
  • Process design and optimisation
  • Conduct detailed reviews of current ("as-is") reporting and consolidation processes.
  • Design and implement improved ("to-be") automated workflows to enhance efficiency and standardisation.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend innovative automation solutions.
  • Ensure alignment of redesigned processes with internal controls and governance frameworks.
  • Controls, compliance and auditability
  • Implement automated controls within reporting processes to improve data accuracy and reliability.
  • Ensure automation solutions support SOX compliance and internal control requirements.
  • Enhance audit readiness by creating transparent, traceable, and well-documented reporting workflows.
  • Support compliance with complex IFRS standards (e.g., IFRS 9, IFRS 18) through automation-driven solutions.
  • Maintain audit trails and ensure proper governance of automated processes.
  • Data quality and governance
  • Improve data integrity by embedding validation checks and controls within automated workflows.
  • Monitor data quality issues and implement corrective automation mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with business units to ensure accurate and consistent data inputs.
  • Support standardisation of data structures and reporting frameworks.
  • Continuous improvement and innovation
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Group Reporting through automation and digital innovation.
  • Evaluate new technologies and tools that can enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy.
  • Promote a culture of automation and digital adoption within the finance function.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging trends in financial automation and reporting technologies.
  • Stakeholder management and enablement
  • Partner with finance, IT, and business units to deliver automation initiatives.
  • Translate business and IFRS reporting requirements into technical automation solutions.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on automation tools and processes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on IFRS automation within the organisation.
  • Support cross-functional projects requiring automation expertise.

Requirements

  • You're someone who brings:
  • CA(SA) or equivalent accounting qualification.
  • Relevant certifications in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools.
  • 5-7 years' experience in financial reporting, finance transformation, or automation roles.
  • Experience with IFRS reporting and technical accounting environments.
  • Experience integrating automation with ERP or consolidation systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
  • Proficiency in RPA tools, data automation, and process design.
