About the role

In this role, you will use your technical and domain expertise to contribute to both development projects and teams' success. You will work closely with other related developers and play a key role in ensuring that our commercial customers' web services are technically well designed and provide smooth customer experiences in all Nordic countries. In practice, this means that you will work in one of our cross-functional agile teams which design and align technical solutions with related systems. You and other developers in the team are building web solutions and APIs with Azure hosted services and can utilize expertise with C#, .NET, ASP.NET MVC and Web APIs in daily work. On the front-end side, the team's main set of technologies are JavaScript, React, Next.js, and Razor. Test automation and continuous integration are a natural part of your workflow. As part of our agile practices, you will engage with business stakeholders to understand business requirements and refine stories along with other developers in the team. In the line organization, you will be part of a chapter, a group of other developers with similar competences. Our chapters are aiming to ensure we have needed technical capabilities in the teams now and in the future. In your chapter, you will have a significant impact on topics to learn and share knowledge about. Chapter Lead will support you in planning your learning and future career development. Our web applications offer our Nordic customers a modern and appealing self-service experience, enabling them to manage their insurance, claims and payments. Our customer focused development teams aim to continually improve our offering and add new self-service functionality. Your team's focus country will be on one of the countries, but the solutions are provided for all the Nordic countries. Addition to web-based self-service solution, the team is focusing on creating APIs for other services like mobile apps. Your closely co-operating agile team consists of people working in different expertise areas and in different locations: Turku, Espoo, Riga, and Stockholm. The team is relaxed and supportive, but also ambitious and continuously improving the ways of working. And no worries, your team is not the only one working in an agile way: we have an agile operating model largely in use in the whole company. Your team is included in our Oasis tribe where everyone's goal is to take good care of our customers, keep them correctly insured, and informed about their insurance matters. Despite team working in several locations, you will get opportunities to meet face to face with your whole team occasionally, as well as other tribe members. In addition to your closest team members, you will have a great number of other developers and Lead Developer colleagues working around the same area in either Espoo, Turku or Riga offices. You are passionate about development in an agile environment and contributing to software development and operations initiatives in your team. You don't shy away from coaching colleagues and helping in their professional growth and competence development makes you smile. You are motivated by quality and good design, and always eager to learn more. You also have: Multiple years of experience in software development (mid or senior level) Deep knowledge of backend software development with C#/.NET Good understanding of REST API development (.NET) Front-end development experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript/JavaScript Experience with Azure, Git environments, pull requests, and code reviews Solid understanding of HTML and CSS (tailwind) Experience with integration of third-party services via API Strong communication skills to articulate complex concepts and logic to non-technical stakeholders and cross-functional teams Problem-solving and adaptability, including critical thinking and resourceful solution design Strong collaboration skills and comfort working with pract
