We welcome you to join our team as: Assistant Director, Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC) The SICC is a division of the General Division of the High Court (GDHC), and is part of the Supreme Court of Singapore. The SICC is a court of first instance which hears claims that are international and commercial in nature. The SICC Registry is responsible for the management and disposal of cases in the SICC and appeals from the SICC. What you will be working on You will be involved in the following: - Work closely with Singapore and International Judges as well as Judicial Officers in matters affecting cases before the SICC and on appeals from the SICC; - Manage cases filed in or transferred from the GDHC to the SICC through analysing, reviewing, monitoring and processing documents in accordance with the applicable legislation, rules, practice directions, standard operating procedures and policies; - Draft case summaries, papers, notices and general correspondence and liaise with lawyers, self-represented persons and other stakeholders (including external agencies) to facilitate smooth proceedings and the efficient disposal of cases; - Compile, verify and maintain accurate case information and statistics, preparing reports including providing analysis of the statistics where appropriate, and recommend measures to enhance the operations of the SICC; - Establish, review and streamline existing operational processes to improve quality of work and productivity to meet the key performance indicators of the SICC; - Manage and provide support in the development and implementation of operational systems or changes thereto or in administering the operations of the SICC; - Conduct legal research and analysis with a view to making recommendations on issues affecting the operations of the SICC; - Review and enhance rules of court, practice directions and practices, and make recommendations to address operational or system implications; and - Assist in the functions and work of the Registry in general (including working with other divisions in the Supreme Court) and as assigned.
