About the role

Supervisory Program Analyst (Health Informatics) improve the qualify, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care by integrating clinical and information processes necessary to achieve successful adoption and application of new technologies throughout the VHA. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Grade Determinations: Supervisory Program Analyst (Informatics) GS-13 Specialized Experience: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the Federal Service, that is directly related to the work of the position and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties as a Supervisory Program Analyst - Informatics. Qualifying specialized experience includes determining organizational unit goals and objectives in a constantly changing and developing health care field; independently performing a full range of data analysis, to include collecting, evaluating, and synthesizing of data; preparing briefing documents and making presentations to senior managers; assists with estimating program budgets, reviewing contractor and health informatics work plans, and progress report development; and experienced knowledge and use of national database architecture and file structure, analytical techniques, and clinical applications development techniques. Preferred Experience: Experience supervising or leading a team, including assigning work, evaluating performance, and supporting staff development. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement operational workflows and process improvements across departments. Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, including developing timelines, tracking deliverables, and communicating status to stakeholders. Experience designing, maintaining, and optimizing relational database systems with knowledge of data integrity best practices. Proficiency in writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting SQL queries for reporting and data analysis; experience with SQL-based reporting tools or enterprise data systems preferred. Strong analytical skills with experience evaluating program effectiveness, identifying gaps, and recommending data-driven solutions. Ability to synthesize complex data and present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience supporting education, training, or change management initiatives related to health information technology or clinical systems. Ability to serve as a liaison between clinical and technical staff, translating workflow requirements and facilitating cross-functional decision-making in a healthcare or clinical operations environment Reference: For more information on this qualification standard, please visit https://www.va.gov/ohrm/QualificationStandards/. The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-13. Physical Requirements: The work is usually sedentary, but it requires periods of walking, standing, bending, or climbing, and employees may carry light items such as books, instruments, laptops, and other similar materials. The work is conducted in office, conference room and clinical/hospital patient care settings. Typically, the work is hazard-free, not requiring any special clothing or equipment.
