About the role

Laytons is seeking a Restructuring and Insolvency Partner (Solicitor) to join our Dispute Resolution team. The successful candidate will handle a broad range of complex insolvency and restructuring matters, develop and maintain a strong client following, and contribute to the growth of the insolvency and restructuring practice. There may also be opportunities to lend assistance to our Commercial and other teams when required.

Responsibilities

  • Handling a broad range of complex insolvency and restructuring matters, providing legal expertise and strategic guidance to clients
  • Negotiating and drafting agreements across all insolvency matters including restructuring documents, company voluntary arrangements, administration and receivership
  • Actively engaging with insolvency practitioners, companies and directors to understand their needs and provide tailored legal solutions
  • Assessing potential risks associated with insolvency work and providing strategic advice on risk management and mitigation
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships with a proven track record of client retention and business development
  • Identifying opportunities to refer work to other departments and assisting the wider firm in meeting fee earning targets
  • Mentoring and developing junior team members, supervising staff and carrying out appraisals and probation reviews
  • Keeping up to date with relevant laws, regulations and industry standards relating to insolvency and restructuring in England and Wales
  • Ensuring all matters adhere to legal and regulatory requirements including AML and compliance procedures
  • Assisting in the development and growth of the insolvency and restructuring practice

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor (England and Wales) with strong experience in Restructuring and Insolvency, both contentious and non-contentious - essential
  • A client following - essential
  • Exceptional technical proficiency and drafting skills
  • Strong commercial acumen with a keen eye for detail
  • Experience leading teams to achieve financial and service delivery targets with a track record of improving financial performance
  • Leadership, coaching and mentoring skills
  • Ability to build and manage client portfolios, generating work for self and team
  • Excellent client care and interpersonal skills
  • Good IT skills including case management sysstems
  • Ability to work self-sufficiently and prioritise workloads effectively
