Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI semantic models and enterprise reporting solutions
  • Build scalable dimensional models (star schema, fact & dimension tables) for analytical workloads
  • Develop advanced DAX measures and calculations to support business reporting needs
  • Work within Microsoft Fabric architecture (Lakehouse / Warehouse / Semantic Models)
  • Optimise performance of large-scale datasets and reporting solutions
  • Develop and maintain Power Query (M language) transformations and data pipelines
  • Optimise SQL queries and underlying data structures for analytics performance
  • Support integration of data sources including Azure, SQL Server, APIs, and cloud platforms
  • Build and maintain analytics solutions using Python (Fabric notebooks / Databricks where applicable)
  • Implement and support deployment pipelines (CI/CD for Power BI / Fabric assets)
  • Work with Azure AD / Entra ID security groups and RBAC for secure data access
  • Support governance, auditing, and monitoring of enterprise data platforms
  • Automate data processes using REST APIs and scripting where required
  • Required Skills:
  • Strong commercial experience with Power BI (enterprise-scale environments)
  • Proven expertise in semantic modelling and star schema design
  • Advanced knowledge of DAX and Power Query (M language)
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Fabric or Azure Synapse Analytics
  • Solid SQL skills (data modelling and performance optimisation)
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets in enterprise environments
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and RBAC models (Azure AD / Entra ID)
  • Exposure to deployment pipelines / DevOps practices for analytics solutions
  • Experience with API integration and automation
  • Working knowledge of Python in data/analytics contexts
  • Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering , or equivalent military experience .
  • Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in engineering, defence, aerospace, or similarly complex regulated environments
  • Exposure to Databricks or Spark-based processing
  • Familiarity with data gateway architecture and enterprise data connectivity
  • Experience implementing or supporting enterprise analytics governance frameworks
  • Security clearance eligibility (UK-based candidates preferred)
