Job Title Planner I/II Responsible for obtaining materials, components and equipment. Roles and Responsibilities: - Check requisitions, obtain quotations, examine bids and awards jobs. - Develop new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate. - Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels. - Monitor the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. - Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. - Identify, define, and recommend issues for quality control. - Interpret technical data in mathematical or diagrammatical form. - Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors. - Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. - Recommend new policies or procedures as necessary. - Plan and establish production schedules and follow-up performance against estimates. - Supervise assembly of statistical data on demand patterns, usage, etc. - Approve process specification and design standards for processes within area of responsibility. - Manage planning functions on a day-to-day basis. - Maintain inventory records and requisitions, ingredients/supplies as necessary to meet delivery schedules. - Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities between departments. - Understand and meet or exceed quality standards; seek to minimize error rate. - Participate in continuous improvement efforts. Support and help to implement new ideas. - Assist in any and all areas assigned. Job Requirements: Education: - Bachelor's degree or 8 years' education and work experience; plus experience and knowledge in operations of business.
