THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT), Position Description Number T5924000 and is part of the KS Joint Forces Headquarters, National Guard. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have general experience to demonstrate you have the ability to: Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; Plan and organize work; and Communicate effectively orally and in writing. Such experience may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible work. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least1-year specialized experience, equivalent to at least the next lower grade with expert knowledge of HR laws, regulations, principles, policies, and concepts related to the assigned functional area sufficient to plan and coordinate activities, provide HR management advisory services, and serve as a strategic and technical resource to management and HR Specialists on difficult issues, skilled in making clear and convincing oral presentations to individuals or groups, listening effectively, and clarifying information as needed. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is sedentary. Some work may require walking in offices and similar areas for meetings and to conduct HR work. Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite. The work does not require any special physical effort. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions. During emergency operations, may be working in an area that is not an established office environment. Travel to emergency operations centers will be required and may be for extended periods of time.
