Liquid Personnel is seeking an experienced and motivated Advanced Practitioner to join a small, supportive Children's Services team in Hexham, Northumberland. This is a 10-month maternity cover position with the potential to apply for other roles within the council at the end of the contract. As an Advanced Practitioner, you will manage a complex caseload within the area of children's safeguarding, demonstrating exemplary practice and leadership. You will play a key role in supporting less experienced colleagues, contributing to a culture of learning and high-quality service delivery. What will your responsibilities be? In this role, you will, Manage a caseload of complex and high-risk cases, ensuring high standards of safeguarding and care planning. Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to less experienced social workers within the team. Offer direct supervision to staff as directed by the Team Manager. Act as a Practice Educator, supervising student placements and supporting their development. Chair meetings under the Signs of Safety framework, including Child in Need (CIN) Reviews and Initial Core Groups. Work collaboratively with children, families, and partner agencies to assess needs and deliver effective interventions. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Northumberland County Council's policies, procedures, and relevant legislation. Participate in regular supervision and contribute to the reflective learning culture of the team. Promote and model best practice in safeguarding and permanency planning.
