Job Description: Ryan Companies is hiring for a Construction Accountant for our office headquarters in Minneapolis. This role will oversee projections and actuals for construction projects on a Work in Place and Financial Reporting basis. Prepare construction financial reports and reconcile and validate reporting across multiple systems. Partner with regional teams on profit projections, variance analysis, and other construction related matters. Work with field leaders on their budgets and forecasts. This position will be part of the Construction Accounting Team and will report directly to the Senior Director of Construction Accounting. In addition to the Construction Accounting Team, this role will have the opportunity to work with the greater cross-functional accounting and finance team team including; Corporate Accounting, Development Accounting, FP&A and Finance Technology. It will also collaborate with and the Construction Operational Excellence Team. Some things you can expect to do: Provide oversight that accounting for projects meets GAAP requirements Maintain projections for projects on a Work in Place and Financial Reporting basis Monthly preparation of construction financial reports on a Work in Place and Financial Reporting basis Reconcile and validate reporting across multiple systems Manage overall accounts receivable exposure on construction jobs Perform project creation, project close and compliance review tasks Preparation of job cost journal entries Assistance with year-end audit related tasks Implementing process improvements across our overall construction accounting team and working directly with operational teams Assist in ad-hoc reporting and projects as needed. To be successful in this role you will need a: Bachelor's degree in Accounting 2+ years experience Excellent customer service skills Works effectively in a team environment The ability to analyze, problem solve, and adapt to advancing technology Ability to communicate professionally, proactively, and strategically, while working with competing priorities Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Construction knowledge and experience with Enterprise systems (SAP, JD Edwards, etc.) preferred.
