Principal Hardware Engineer, Display

About the role

Develop display LCD module with supplier for automotive application. Implement display electronic driving board design for automotive application. Perform display module design verification test for optical and electrical during full cycle of product development to meet the customer requirement.

Responsibilities

• Activities on Display components level:
• Review and analyze customer's technical requirement for displays, then prepare display technical quotation spec to support RFI/RFQ, including display, touch and the HW driving solution.
• Collaborate with mechanical to optimize and finalize the display solution during the quotation and development phase.
• Technical bridge for all display topics between internal team and display suppliers, and prepare all necessary report and document to support display RFQ and development.
• Support all the troubleshooting regarding to display module during development and production phase.
• Technical management for display suppliers chaining on automotive application.
• Co-audit display suppliers together with souring and quality team.
• Activities on Display Hardware Driving Design:
• Hardware driving board design for display unit on automotive product.
• Implement digital and analog circuit design on display unit.
• Take the simulation, design and verification test for high speed video signals, such as LVDS, MIPI and eDP.
• Support Seders HW design and the configurations for automotive display products.
• Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing and test engineers during development and production phase.
• Hardware requirement analysis, feasibility evaluation and hardware specification definition.
• Design performance improvement, validation and troubleshooting.
• Prepare and release full documentation packages as required per work instructions and project requirements.
• Ensure design activities to be carried out timely and efficiently.
• What You Need to Be Successful
• Bachelor degree, Major in electronic engineering, electrical automation or related.
• Good command for display HW design from total display system perspective.
• Preferred with display component and display HW design background.
• Good experiences with display technique and the stack up.
• Familiar with display optical parameters and measurement.
• 6+ years experience on automotive Display engineering design and project delivery experiences, expert in HW design and the verification test for Automotive Display.
• With good mindset of cost structure and supply chain, and be able to support VAVE on display HW driving board design.
• Experience with HW design verification, qualification and EMC test.
• Good in English and Communication skill.
• Familiar with one or two HW circuit simulation tools.
• Good command of high speed video signals simulation, design and the design verification test.
• Good command of display sub material and the characteristics will be preferred, such as lens, film, polarizer and the film stack up in backlight, which can support cost and performance optimization by the capability from cross domains.

• Experience with display product on automotive application.
• Experience with display HW driving board design.
• Experience with automotive product development.
