Senior Software Engineer, Control

Requirements

• Ownership mindset, self-direction, and a passion for solving complex problems.
• 5 year experience in systems programming, preferably C/C++
• Proven experience building complex, high-performance distributed systems such as databases, file systems, or distributed data platforms, at scale
• Strong distributed troubleshooting and incident resolution skills.
• It's nice if you have:
• Experience with Rust/ Go
• Experience with NGINX/Envoy and general background in networking concepts
• Experience working with K8s
• Experience with distributed consensus protocols (such as Raft or Paxos)

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll: You will be responsible for building the "brain" of Weka's main product, which is a distributed file system -the layer that manages orchestration, metadata, cluster membership, and implements complex logic required to manage hundreds of thousands of nodes, for cluster scaling, automated failover, zero-downtime rolling upgrades and "self-healing" to detect and remediate hardware failures or network partitions. Design, implement, unit test, and maintain services that coordinate and the cluster Optimize Performance: Work with complex data structures like spanning trees or LSM-Trees, concurrency control mechanisms (MVCC) to improve speed and efficiency. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate backend capabilities into real-world impact
