Build Engineer (Linux Administrator ,VMware Specialist)

Responsibilities

• Install configure and administer UnixLinux servers primarily RHEL in production and nonproduction environments
• Manage and support VMware vSphere infrastructure including ESXi hosts vCenter Server clusters resource pools and virtual networking
• Perform system monitoring performance tuning and capacity planning for UnixLinux and VMware platforms
• Implement and maintain security hardening patching and compliance standards CIS STIG internal controls
• Troubleshoot complex hardware OS virtualization networking and storage issuesincluding applicationtodatabase connectivity problems
• Manage file systems storage allocations disk partitioning LVM configurations volume expansions and mountpoint restructuring
• Automate operational tasks using Bash Python Perl or configuration management tools Ansible preferred
• Maintain and improve backup snapshot and disaster recovery strategies for Unix and VMware environments
• Partner with application database and DevOps teams to support deployments upgrades and system migrations
• Document architecture configurations SOPs and troubleshooting procedures
• Participate in oncall rotation and provide afterhours support when required
• Required Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field
• 5 years of handson experience in UnixLinux system administration
• 3 years of handson experience with VMware vSphere ESXi and vCenter
• Strong understanding of networking concepts TCPIP DNS NFS etc
• Experience with storage systems SANNAS and backup solutions
• Familiarity with ITIL practices and change management processes

Requirements

• VMware Certified Professional VCP certification
• Linux Administration Certification eg RHCSA RHCE
• Experience with Kubernetes containers or cloud platforms AWSAzure is a plus
