About the role
Works under the supervision of the Chief Nursing Office to provide clinical and administrative supervision for all Inpatient Nurse Managers at Riverside Mental Health and Recovery Center. The Director is responsible for leadership, oversight and strategic direction of all inpatient acute units at RMHRC. The Inpatient nurse director is responsible for ensuring evidenced based, high-quality care while also ensuring operational excellence. The Director will also focus on ensuring a safe workplace, good throughput, and team member satisfaction. This position works closely with the interdisciplinary team to enhance patient and team member safety and ensure RMHRC is a top performing behavioral health hospital.
Responsibilities
- Ability to delegate and prioritize tasks to facilitate quality patient care and ensure all patient care needs are met. Able to recognize and respond to emergency situations. Empowers team members and gives sound direction for prioritizing and improving workflows.
- Rounds on all units and provides assistance in planning nursing care and evaluating effectiveness of care, problem solving, interpreting nursing policies and patient room assigning. Monitors staff and assignments. Ensures staff are in appropriate locations.
Requirements
- Education
- Bachelors Degree, Nursing (Required) or
- Masters Degree, Nursing or Healthcare related field (Required)
- 3-4 years Mental Health, Substance Use Treatment and/or acute inpatient experience (Required)
- 3-4 years Nursing Leadership (Preferred)
- Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required)
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required)
- ACLS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Preferred)
