About the role
The Research Services Directorate (RSD) at NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) is currently seeking interested applicants for the position of Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS) in the Research Systems Integration Branch (RSIB). To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level: Supporting the planning or development of quality assurance functional programs, concepts, operating principles, aeronautical standards, documentation procedures, airworthiness activities or methodologies in accordance with regulations and requirements; Performing aircraft maintenance or modifications and interpreting specifications or technical data to assist with ensuring quality requirements or standards are met; Analyzing or evaluating aircraft systems (e.g., hydraulics, pneumatics, powerplant, electrical, avionics) across aircraft platforms to support inspect aircraft maintenance and modifications. To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level: Serving as a subject matter expert in quality assurance functional programs, concepts, operating principles, aeronautical standards, documentation procedures, airworthiness activities, and methodology to include experience with multiple certification types (e.g., FAA Part 121, 225, 91, DOD, NASA); Performing aircraft maintenance and modifications, conducting quality surveillance, and interpreting specifications and technical data of major aircraft modifications to ensure quality requirements and standards are met; Analyzing and evaluating aircraft systems (e.g., hydraulics, pneumatics, powerplant, electrical, avionics) across multiple aircraft platforms in order to inspect aircraft maintenance and modifications.
