They use their knowledge to help clients make better decisions, solve complex issues and execute new practices that propel clients' businesses toward key objectives and publish these pragmatic and/or provocative insights. Additionally, they reinforce Gartner's value every day by engaging clients via in-person and virtual meetings, sales support visits, Gartner conferences and industry events. In this role, you will provide actionable, objective insight to CIOs, AI Leaders, and Operational Senior Management on a wide range of topics associated with Operational Technology and the intersection of IT and OT. A particular focus will be on the leverage of AI in Secure Autonomous Operations, from the identification of value creating opportunities through solution development, deployment and operation. You should also have a good understanding of the role that OT can play in mitigating current challenges and creating new business opportunities. In addition, you will advise the Executive Management of technology solutions and service providers on how to refine their products and services to meet the evolving needs of asset intensive/industrial companies and identify new opportunities. You will be responsible for socializing research ideas and producing research publications based on Gartner best practice covering a wide range of OT related topics including market analyses as well as best practice in the development, deployment, management and optimization of OT related solutions. Collaboration with other Analyst teams in the Gartner Business and Technology Insights division will be key to developing this advice and the associated content. Building and maintaining good relationships with the Gartner research communities, sales, and account teams will also be key to helping grow the Garter business and retain existing clients.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business and technology trends across global energy and utility sectors, providing Gartner clients with critical insights to create OT and IT strategies in line with business goals.
- Produce a range of research publications, including Best Practice Insights, Market Analyses, Trend and Survey Analyses, Forecasts/Predictions, and Case Studies/Use Cases related to asset intensive or industrial operations
- Lead and contribute to Thought Leadership in relation to OT and AI, OT and the Cloud, OT Management and Optimization, and the evolving markets for OT, including SCADA/Historians/IIoT/etc.
- Provide Gartner clients with insight and guidance on the latest developments across OT and related IT to safely and economically operate, as well as advise on the solutions, market trends, and vendors
- Advise Gartner clients on developments in key operational technology markets, including technology trends and markets' directions, vendor positioning, and products/solutions offerings.
- Advise clients globally on the best use of information and operation technology and appropriate architectural patterns to address their mission-critical priorities through digitalization and AI.
- Assess the maturity of the innovative operational technology solutions and advise clients on the risks and benefits associated with the adoption of a particular technology.
- Provide assessment of vertical technology markets, including market directions, solution maturity, and vendors' positioning.
- Advise end user clients during each phase of technology product and services procurement.
- Create innovative, thought provoking, and highly leveraged "must-have" insights.
