The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) with responsibility for security planning, coordinating, and overseeing the security during installation, testing, modifying, upgrading, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the network and server hardware and software systems on the installation's network. This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions BASIC REQUIREMENT: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of systems integration methods, performance tuning methods, test and evaluation methods and procedures, IT security principles and methods, and project management principles and methods sufficient to plan and coordinate the installation of new products or equipment. Knowledge of configuration management methods and techniques for integrating information system components sufficient to install and maintain software and hardware, optimize functionality of systems, and diagnose and recover failed systems. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of IT INFOSEC security requirements for JWICS for certification and accreditation, network operations and protocols, and performance management methods sufficient to plan and conduct security accreditation reviews for installed systems or networks and assess and advises on new or revised security measures and countermeasures based on the results of accreditation reviews. 2. Knowledge of Local Area Network for JWICS security requirements and techniques for protecting computer systems from viruses, data tampering, and unauthorized system entry; and knowledge of a full range of IT security principles, concepts, practices, products and services and methods for evaluating risk and vulnerability, and disseminating IT security tools and procedures for JWICS. 3. Knowledge of a broad range of telecommunications concepts and principles, operating modes, systems, media, equipment, equipment configuration, and related software systems, processes and procedures to assess
