Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a growing infrastructure and reliability team. This role focuses on supporting system reliability, availability, and performance while building expertise in automation, monitoring, and incident response. You will collaborate closely with experienced engineers to enhance operational efficiency and system resilience.

Responsibilities

• System Reliability & Operations
• Support the availability, scalability, and performance of production systems
• Monitor system health using dashboards, logs, and alerting tools
• Perform routine operational activities, including deployments, backups, and system checks
• Participate in on-call rotations under guidance
• Incident Management
• Respond to alerts and incidents following established procedures and runbooks
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving production issues
• Contribute to post-incident reviews and documentation of learnings
• Automation & Tooling
• Utilize automation and AI-driven tools to improve deployment, monitoring, and operational efficiency
• Develop and maintain scripts to automate repetitive tasks
• Support enhancements to CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
• Contribute to infrastructure automation using IaC tools
• Collaboration & Documentation
• Partner with engineering teams to improve system reliability and operability
• Maintain clear and structured documentation, including runbooks and system procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, IT, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Basic understanding of Linux/Unix systems and networking fundamentals
• Familiarity with at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash, Go)
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Understanding of version control tools such as Git
• Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive learning mindset
