Senior Regional Application Engineer (APAC)

About the role

We are looking for a Regional Application Engineer to support strategic customer accounts across the APAC region, with a primary focus on HVAC and cooling solutions for Data Centre projects. Working closely with Sales, Key Account Managers, and technical teams, you will provide application engineering support, recommend technical solutions, and ensure customer requirements are translated into practical and commercially viable proposals.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical application support for strategic customers and regional sales teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop engineering solutions, equipment selections, feasibility studies, and technical proposals based on customer requirements.
• Prepare project cost estimates, technical compliance documents, deviation lists, and proposal documentation.
• Act as the technical liaison between customers, sales teams, and manufacturing to ensure proposed solutions meet both customer expectations and product capabilities.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Commissioning Engineers, After-Sales, Technical Support, Consultants, Contractors, and Key Account Managers to deliver project solutions.
• Participate in technical discussions, customer meetings, and project reviews to provide engineering expertise and application support.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and consultants by providing timely technical advice and resolving application-related issues.
• Support continuous improvement by gathering customer feedback and recommending enhancements to products and application solutions.
• Provide application support for HVAC and cooling systems, including:
• Air Handling Units (AHU)
• CRAC / CRAH Units
• Chillers and Chilled Water Systems
• ACMV Systems
• Liquid Cooling Solutions

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of engineering or application engineering experience.
• Strong experience in HVAC, ACMV, cooling solutions, chillers, chilled water systems, or related mechanical systems is essential.
• Experience within Data Centre projects or critical facilities will be highly preferred.
• Good understanding of mechanical systems, refrigeration, hydraulics, or related engineering disciplines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work closely with customers, consultants, and internal teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
• Self-motivated, organised, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.
• Business-level English is required. Japanese language proficiency is preferred to support Japanese customers.
• Travel required (10%)
