About the role

The United States Attorney's Office (USAO), Southern District of Florida (SDFL) is seeking qualified, experienced attorneys to serve as Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSA) in our Collateral Litigation Section within the Criminal Division. The incumbent will conduct, supervise, and litigate legal privilege matters and filter reviews. AUSAs may be hired for a position in any of our offices throughout the District, located in Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. Required Qualifications: Applicants must possess a J.D. Degree, be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction), and have at least 2 years post-J.D. legal or other relevant experience. United States citizenship is required. Preferred Qualifications: Your qualifications will be further evaluated based upon the following competencies: Expertise in the law of legal privilege, including the Attorney-Client Privilege, Work Product Doctrine, Spousal Privilege, and all exceptions to such privileges, including waiver and the crime-fraud exception. Experience overseeing attorneys and support staff engaged in the review of potentially privileged materials. Experience overseeing large-scale document reviews, including familiarity with document review platforms. Experience litigating privilege matters in federal court. Experience as a criminal prosecutor. Knowledge of white collar criminal litigation. Experience in supporting, litigating, and supervising federal or state criminal cases. Experience with the federal judiciary. Applicants should possess superior oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the capacity to function in a highly demanding environment with minimal guidance. The successful candidate should have strong academic credentials and at least 2 years of post J.D. experience. You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement.
