Job Summary: The R&O Mechanical Tech II is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying repair and overhaul (R&O) electro-mechanical components, electro-mechanical assemblies, parts, equipment, and systems by applying principles of mechanical theory , basic electrical skills, engineering mathematics, testing, and physics. Essential Functions: Read component maintenance manuals, blueprints, schematic drawings and engineering instructions for assembling and testing electro -mechanical units Test electro -mechanical units, using standard test equipment, and analyze results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment. Test, and maintain mechanical components according to engineering inst ructions, technical manuals , using hand and power tools Adjust and replace defective or improperly functioning components , usin g hand tools and soldering iron Perform repairs, maintenance and calibration of electro-mechanical assemblies per the Component Maintenance Manuals Write teardown reports and accurately record testing data and inspection results Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers and field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts Maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment Provide user applications and engineering support and recommendations for new and existing equipment with regard to install ation, upgrades and enhancement Practice safe work habits as established by OSHA and Crane policy Supports Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, KPI's, Standard Work, Problem Solving, and other initiatives as they arise Maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary Any other task assigned by supervisor or management Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
