Tunnel Engineer

Job Description Develop detailed designs for tunnel structures, including alignments, cross-sections, and support systems. Conduct site investigations and analyze geological and hydrological data to inform design and construction methods. Coordinate project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion. Supervise tunnelling operations and ensure compliance with engineering standards, project specifications, and safety regulations. Work closely with architects, civil engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle. Implement quality assurance protocols to maintain high standards in construction practices and materials used. Prepare progress reports and documentation for stakeholders and regulatory authorities. Job Requirements Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in tunnel construction and underground infrastructure projects. Demonstrated experience in TBM and/or NATM tunnelling methods. Medically fit to work in compressed-air environments where required. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Strong understanding of tunnelling safety, risk management, and quality assurance practices. Able to work rotating shifts, including 12-hour shifts and 6-day work weeks, when required by project operations.
