The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is seeking to fill a Risk Management Specialist I-II position in Regional Support and Risk Management of the Business Operations Division which is located at 1117 Trinity Austin, Texas 78778. The Risk Management Specialist I-II performs routine to moderately complex (journey-level) risk management work. Work involves implementing agency risk management programs and conducting risk management reviews. Works under moderate/general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. GENERAL DUTIES: - Assists in the planning, developing, and implementing of departments risk management, safety, and continuity programs statewide initiatives. - May develop and implement risk management loss control programs and guidelines. - Reviews files, reports, and programs for compliance with applicable state and federal laws related to risk management and loss control programs. - Conducts risk management program reviews and safety program evaluations, and conducts presentations on risk management programs. - Conducts on-site inspections of properties and facilities to identify hazards and risk exposures. - Consults with other risk management representatives to identify risk exposures and assist with developing plans to mitigate the risks. - Prepares technical and comprehensive reports, plans, and procedures for developing risk management programs, reviews, and inspections. - Assists in conducting loss avoidance and loss prevention assessments for risk management programs. - Assists in the review of risk management policies and procedures. - Assists in the review of loss and exposure data. - Provides consultative services and technical assistance to TWC employees, Local Workforce Development Boards, visitors, customers, contractors and vendors. - Assists in all areas of privacy, risk management, safety, and continuity processes as needed. - Oversees and analyzes operations, and researches, reviews, and evaluates information on programs and services in order to identify gaps in resources and to recommend improvements. - Establishes, maintains, and works effectively with internal staff to evaluate compliance with the terms and conditions of the contracts, and in the conduct of related agency activities. May approve invoices or participate in solicitation processes when necessary for program areas. - Proficient use of personal computer and software applications (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point). - Provides training to TWC employees and contractors related to business continuity, privacy, risk management and safety. - Performs other duties as assigned. Position may involve working hours other than 8AM - 5PM, Monday-Friday, including overnight travel. Duty requires up to 35% travel (within the state of Texas) and the ability to lift 20 pounds. The salary range for this position is $2,595.00 - $3,752.00 per month depending on qualifications.
