Pay Range: $20.10 - $26.13 Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Position Overview SUMMARY (Basic Purpose of the Job) Provides direct patient care and support to the anesthesia providers for routine, urgent and complex surgical cases and procedures to ensure quality of patient care. Assists in the preparation and maintenance of patient equipment and anesthesiology delivery systems before, during or after anesthesia to ensure quality of patient care. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education:High school diploma or equivalency. Experience:Less than one year hospital setting experience with patient care. Other Credentials:AHA BLS. Non-Licensed must obtain before end of orientation period Knowledge and Skills:Knowledge of basic medical terminology. Proficient in English. Verbal and written communication skills. Special Training:CPR. Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities: Usual Work Day:8 Hours Reporting Relationships Does this position formally supervise employees? No If set to YES, then this position has the authority (delegated) to hire, terminate, discipline, promote or effectively recommend such to manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provides direct patient care and support to the anesthesia providers for routine, urgent and complex surgical cases and procedures to ensure quality of patient care. Assists in the preparation and maintenance of patient equipment and anesthesiology delivery systems before, during or after anesthesia to ensure quality of patient care. Administers supportive to the care of the patient undergoing anesthesia. Assists in positioning and transferring of patient when needed. Communicates pertinent information regarding patient condition to anesthesia provider or nursing staff. Decontaminates and processes instruments, equipment, fiberoptic bronchoscopic equipment for the operating room. Replaces circuits and assembles all necessary supplies. Maintains supply, equipment and pharmacy inventory to optimize the delivery of anesthesia services. Checks sterile supplies for quotas, expiration dates, rotation of supplies and maintenance of sterile supply area cleanliness. Identifies malfunctioning equipment and notifies appropriate personnel. Performs other duties as needed.
