About the role

You will serve as an Equipment Specialist in the Engineering Support Branch managing Armstrong Flight Research Center's Metrology and Calibration Program, serving as the Center's expert for selecting and applying electrical, electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and flow measurement devices. Providing technical leadership, ensuring compliance with standards, supporting calibration operations, and advising the Branch Chief on metrology program needs. To qualify for GS-12, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level: Supporting the Metrology & Calibration (METCAL) Program by carrying out technical calibration, documentation, and compliance activities. Assisting with the development and implementation of metrology procedures; maintaining calibration records; ensuring equipment traceability to national/international standards; and supporting internal audits by collecting data, identifying discrepancies, and recommending corrective actions. Supporting metrology operations by coordinating calibration activities and assisting technicians, contractors, and laboratory personnel to ensure efficient workflow and accurate completion of metrology tasks. Helping maintain the readiness of Measurement & Test Equipment (M&TE).
