Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role: DR Planning & Practice Maturity Document detailed recovery plans and procedures for recovering IT services in the event of disruptions. Develop and maintain IT service continuity plans, strategies and roadmaps aligned with the overall business continuity strategies. Act as an authoritative advisor with the confidence to critically review existing architecture and provide constructive feedback to continuously improve recovery capability. Actively uplift and evolve the maturity of the ITSCM and DR practice across the enterprise, moving from a reactive compliance model to a proactive resilience framework. DR Prioritisation & Preparation Establish and govern a structured service-tiering model to categorise IT Services by criticality, defining clear Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) to establish a definitive order of restoration. Lead cross-functional workshops and data-elicitation sessions with business and technology stakeholders to discover system dependencies and recovery capabilities. Risk Management: Identify potential DR risks and issues to IT services. Develop and recommend strategies to mitigate identified risks and minimise their impact to the organisation. DR Testing & Orchestration Design and execute recovery scenario simulations ("Game Days") across multiple disaster variations to ensure technical teams are trained for real-world events. Demonstrate strong incident / crisis management experience to the table; step in to lead or support the technical response during catastrophic outages to orchestrate rapid service restoration. Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination Act as the primary contact for IT resilience; collaborate heavily with various departments to educate stakeholders on the value of proactive disaster recovery planning. Build highly effective, trusting relationships with stakeholders at all levels, from business owners to systems engineers. Technical Awareness & Governance Manage recovery strategies for highly complex infrastructure environments that span multiple locations, cloud providers, and distinct business units. Maintain strong technical and architectural awareness across the modern enterprise technology stack, such as Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure, Enterprise Networking, and End-user compute. Work directly with critical third-party partners, SaaS providers, and traditional vendors. Routinely assess and validate their technical recovery capabilities to ensure they meet EGL's RTO/RPO targets . Governance, Compliance & Audit Ensure the ITSCM framework meets internal governance standards, industry benchmarks, and regulatory compliance structures. Serve as the primary point of contact for IT continuity audit support. Prepare for and support audits related to IT service continuity and business continuity of Endeavour's services. People Leadership & Mentoring Directly lead, manage, and mentor a small team of Disaster Recovery coordinators, supporting their professional development and establishing performance objectives. Cultivate a culture of high performance and continuous learning within the team, using analytical judgment and pragmatic problem-solving. Continuous Improvement: After every DR Test , conduct post-exercise reviews to understand the learnings, results and recovery process to identify areas for improvement. Regularly update IT service continuity plans based on new information, changes in the IT environment, and lessons learned. Overall 10+ years experience, with over 5 years of experience in IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM), or related Disaster Recovery or a heavily related Major Incident / Resiliency infrastructure role within a complex, large-scale enterprise.
