Responsibilities
- Serve as a welcoming and responsive point of contact for alumni through email, phone, events, and engagement opportunities
- Support alumni volunteer engagement efforts, including reunion committees, ambassadors, mentors, and speakers
- Assist in the planning and execution of alumni events, including Homecoming, reunions, and regional gatherings
- Coordinate and support alumni recognition initiatives, including the Alumni Brick program and Alumni Cottage engagement efforts

- Coordinate engagement activities and support programming for the Student Alumni Ambassador (SAA) program
- Collaborate with Advancement and Marketing teams to support alumni communications, newsletters, and promotional content

- Build relationships with student leaders to strengthen connections between current students and the alumni community
- Represent PLNU at local and regional alumni events, including occasional evenings and weekends
- Collaborate with Advancement colleagues to support alumni engagement and advancement initiatives
- Perform additional duties as assigned in support of University Advancement programs and events
Requirements
- Passion for building community and creating meaningful alumni engagement experiences
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect authentically with alumni, students, and campus partners
- Experience coordinating events, volunteer initiatives, or engagement programs
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with confidence, engaging diverse audiences
- Ability to provide high-quality customer service and relationship support in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments and teams
- Attention to detail and ability to manage communications, logistics, and follow-through effectively
- Comfort engaging with alumni and representing PLNU at university and alumni events
- Knowledge and experience working with a diverse population is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Communications, Business, Public Relations, or similar) required
- 1-2 years of increasingly responsible leadership experience required, preferably in a non-profit or higher education setting
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with volunteers, students, and campus partners
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to speak publicly
- Positive, friendly disposition and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with alumni, faculty, staff, students, and the general public
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to use independent judgment in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines while experiencing frequent interruptions
- PLNU alumnus/alumna preferred
- Experience utilizing a database/CRM is greatly preferred
- Strong computer skills: Windows, Word, Excel, Google Suite
- Ability to occasionally travel as well as work evenings and weekends as needed
