The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Safety & Site Support Division seeks a Junior CADD Technician. Under the direct supervision of the Chief of CADD, the Junior CADD Technician will be responsible for producing various Land Survey Map deliverables for DDC capital construction projects including Topographical/Property Line, Highway/Sewer Plan and Profile maps using AutoCAD and Carlson or Civil 3D applications. The Junior CADD Technician will also maintain CADD standards and templates across all deliverables, assist with basic survey calculations, review all completed maps for accuracy, completeness, and coordinate with field unit when clarification is needed. Please note: All candidates must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States (U.S.). In compliance with Public Law 99-603, candidates are required to present original documents proving citizenship or the legal right to work in the U.S. DDC is unable to support or sponsor any visa application or visa extension, including but not limited to OPT/STEM visas, H-1B visas, F-1 practical training, permanent residence sponsorship, or any proposed change of visa type. Additionally, educational credentials must be from a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accredited institution. Credentials from foreign institutions require independent equivalency verification from an approved evaluation service. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in surveying, surveying engineering, surveying engineering technology or in similar surveying-related majors, and two years of full-time satisfactory land surveying experience; or 2. An associate degree from an accredited college or university in the surveying-related majors listed in "1" above, and four years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above; or 3. A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization and six years of full time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above; and 4. A motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York. This license must be maintained for the duration of employment. In addition to meeting the "Qualification Requirements" for Assignment Level I - A above, to be assigned to Assignment Level I - B individuals must have at least one additional year of experience, for a minimum of three years of full-time satisfactory experience as described under Qualification Requirement "1" above. Additional Qualification Requirement For Assignment Level II In addition to meeting the "Qualification Requirements" for Assignment Level I - A above, to be assigned to Assignment Level II, individuals must have two additional years of experience for a minimum of four years of full-time satisfactory experience as described under Qualification Requirement "1" above. Additional Qualification Requirement For Assignment Level III In addition to meeting the "Qualification Requirements" for Assignment Level I - A above, to be assigned to Assignment Level III, individuals must have three additional years of experience for a minimum of five years of full-time satisfactory experience as described under Qualification Requirement "1" above and must meet the "License Requirements" described below. Additional License Requirement Registration as a New York State Land Surveyor is required for appointment to Assignment Level III. To be assigned to officially sign off on land surveying work, a Surveyor - Assignment Level II must be a registered New York State Land Surveyor.
