About the role

For positions in Youth Facilities: The education must have been in youth development, youth administration, secondary education, home economics, physical education, elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as directly related behavioral science. OR one of the following: Combination of education and experience as stated below in Option 1 & 2: Option 1: A combination of education and experience. Education: 24 semester hours in the majors stated above or a related field (see above), plus appropriate experience. Experience: Candidate must also possess all of the following: 12 months experience working in group programs with children/youth as well as demonstrated knowledge in theories and principals of child growth/youth development of which 6 months must be in a supervisory position. The McCormick Credential. OR Option 2: A combination of education and experience. Education: 24 semester hours in the majors stated above or a related field (see above), plus appropriate experience. Experience: Candidate must also possess all of the following: At least 12 months experience working in group programs with children/youth As well as demonstrated knowledge in theories and principals of child growth/youth development of which 12 months must be in a supervisory position. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Knowledge & experience with Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Familiarity with Army and CYS policies and regulations, to include standard operating procedures (SOPs), fee policies and behavior management guidelines. Familiarity with Army inspection processes and requirements. Experience with various supervisory administrative tasks to include: Using Child and Youth Management System (CYMS) or equivalent large-scale records and reporting system; Devising and implementing an employee schedule; Payroll processing to include entering and approving time in EPay or equivalent payroll database. This experience must be clearly listed on your resume to be considered for Highly Preferred status. Applicants meeting the highly preferred criteria position will be referred first to the Selecting Official. All other applicants will be referred for consideration if the certificate (referral list) is returned with no selection.
