The division provides core IT infrastructure services to the university, develops and implements services for the university and in some cases, for the Universities of Wisconsin, and plays a major role in managing the state-wide higher education network and regional networks. This HR Generalist position within the Division of Information Technology will work within a hybrid team environment to support human resources administration, workforce relations and medical leave administration, employee training compliance, reporting and analysis, and other related responsibilities. Under the supervision of the Associate HR Director, this position will primarily focus on human resources administration responsibilities, processing and management of administrative workflows and associated record keeping, interpreting, applying, and maintaining policies and procedures, running and auditing reports and managing related outreach, managing team service accounts, serving as a medical leave representative, supporting on- and offboarding activities, and more. This role operates in a primarily independent, hybrid environment with regular virtual team interaction and limited in-person interaction. Success requires comfort working autonomously, independent prioritizing and re-prioritizing work, initiative to identify, plan, and complete work timely and accurately, strong communication skills across a variety of modalities, proactively seeking clarification or feedback when needed. The work of this position relies heavily on attention to detail and follow-through, individual judgment, initiative, and accountability. The candidate selected for this position may perform a combination of on-site and remote work subject to an approved flexible work arrangement (FWA), which is reviewed and approved annually. Remote work requires successful candidates to possess their own high-speed internet and phone to perform the work on a university-provided computer. Per University policy, transportation between home and assigned work location is not payable/reimbursable and will be at the expense of the employee. Key Job Responsibilities: Receives, responds to, and resolves employee questions and problems Supports assigned areas of a divisional human resources office, which may include a combination of the following: workforce relations, performance management, time and absence, compliance, and/or general HR administration Executes and audits work transactions and changes adhering to established policies and procedures to meet anticipated deadlines Contributes to the development, implementation, interpretation, and revision of work unit Human Resources policies and procedures according to institutional and legal rules and regulations Provides consultation, performs analytics, and/or maintains personnel files, communications, and materials for work unit through various mediums Represents unit/program at institutional workshops, informational meetings, and training sessions Department: Division of Information Technology, Human Resources DoIT Human Resources is a model for human resources excellence and leadership.
