About the role
This role is responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of audio products (such as speakers, headphones, amplifiers, and players) that are imported from overseas manufacturing plants and sold in the Japanese market by the Consumer Business Division. - Objective: Eliminate issues before mass production and prevent quality problems
- Incoming Quality Control (Prevention of Defective Product Entry)
- Manage incoming inspections of imported products in collaboration with partner companies
- Oversee sampling inspections or full inspections depending on product type
- Review, analysis, and report inspection results to headquarters
- Response to defects:
- Arrange sorting of defective units and rework
- Coordinate improvements with global headquarters and factories
- Handle cost recovery procedures
- Objective: Prevent defective products from entering the Japanese market
- Market Quality Monitoring and Improvement
- Collect and analyze field failure and defect data in the market
- Share quality information with global headquarters and manufacturing plants
- Arrange shipment of defective products overseas for analysis
- Objective: Identify market issues and drive continuous product quality improvement
- Handling Market Quality Issues (Corrective Actions)
- Respond to recurring or trend-type defects in the market
- Arrange and manage modification or improvement programs
- Lead corrective actions for both sold products and inventory
- Manage outsourced work and progress with partner companies
- Handle related cost processes (payment and recovery)
- Objective: Prevent escalation of quality issues and maintain brand trust
- Critical Quality Issue Response (Crisis Management)
- Participate in initial investigations of critical defects using technical expertise
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions in collaboration with global headquarters
- Report to relevant regulatory authorities
- Ensure careful and sincere customer responses via the service team
- Objective: Minimize risks and resolve issues quickly
- What You Need to Be Successful
- Technical knowledge and experience in electronics, acoustics, and/or software
- Experience in quality-related or engineering roles within consumer electronics or audio companies
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in a cross-functional and global environment
- Business-level proficiency in both English and Japanese
- Advanced Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint skills.
