Responsibilities

  • Design & Development
  • Design and develop gas turbine structures, casings, and associated components.
  • Produce 3D models, detailed drawings, and documentation using Siemens NX .

  • Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure all designs meet regulatory and programme requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, BOMs, and change records in TeamCenter .
  • Support configuration management and version control processes.
  • Required Skills:
  • Proven experience in aerospace structural or mechanical design.
  • Strong background in gas turbine components (casings, enclosures, load‑bearing structures).
  • Proficiency in Siemens NX (modelling, drafting, assemblies).
  • Experience with TeamCenter for PLM and data management.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and aerospace standards (e.g., AS9100).
  • Exposure to FEA or CFD tools is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering , or equivalent military experience .
  • Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with FEA or CFD analysis workflows.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or other aerospace quality frameworks.
  • Supplier liaison and cross‑functional coordination experience.
  • Knowledge of configuration management and BOM control.
  • Understanding of modern aerospace materials and manufacturing processes.

As a Gas Turbine Design Engineer , you will join our Derby team to support our activities within the civil aerospace propulsion sector. You will contribute to the design and development of advanced gas turbine structures and casings across major propulsion programmes.
