About the role

You will serve as an Engineering Technician in the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command of NAVFAC ROICC SIGONELLA, Italy. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Review technical engineering specifications, drawings and statements of work covering complex and diverse engineering designs or changes for constructability and accuracy. 2) Monitor construction projects to a safe, successful and timely completion. 3) Collaborate in a teamed construction setting, coordinating stakeholder interests atall levels in a partnered environment. 4) Manage project activities to reduce quality, schedule, safety, compliance and cost risk. Has overarching experience in evaluating and assuring the Quality Control (QC) programs of the construction contractor meet NAVFAC standards in accordance with guiding documents (CQM-C Training, specifications, NAVFAC/USACE requirements). Physical Demand Work is sedentary in nature, with physical activity during field surveys and construction site visits. Air and automobile travel will be required. The position requires long periods of sitting inmeetings, intense concentration and working under time constraints. Field visits will involve entry by climbing, walking onto elevated structures, walking over rough, uneven and rocky surfaces, into foundation spaces and into buildings under construction. The work is performed at the construction site, as well as in the office, with regular recurringvisits to building sites. Travel by air is required for training, meetings, or to support the needs of the Command. Reassignments within the commuting area will be required as the workload is reduced at one site and increased at another.
