Roblox is seeking a Principal Asset Management Engineer to define and scale our global asset management system, and process. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, operations, security, and finance, and is responsible for shaping how assets are managed across their full lifecycle-from procurement and provisioning to tracking, utilization, and decommissioning. As a principal individual contributor, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy and ownership, driving both strategy and execution. You will design systems, automations, and workflows that ensure asset data is accurate, auditable, and seamlessly integrated across platforms such as MDM, identity, and asset management systems. In addition to building the platform, you will ensure it operates effectively in practice-partnering closely with Corporate Engineering and cross-functional partners to establish clear standards, reduce operational friction, and enable consistent execution at scale. You Will: Establish and scale a unified ITAM platform for Roblox, serving as a single source of truth and supporting end-to-end lifecycle management from procurement through decommissioning Define and drive the ITAM strategy, including systems, policies, and processes that scale with the business Partner with Corporate Engineering, Procurement, and cross-functional teams to define priorities and drive the ITAM roadmap, aligning with company and technology goals Build and drive automation across the asset ecosystem, integrating platforms such as Jira Assets, Jamf, Workspace ONE, Okta, and Google Workspace to maintain accurate, timely asset data with minimal manual intervention Maintain accurate asset inventory through scalable systems and processes that track asset status, ownership, location, and utilization Enable effective asset management at scale by equipping Client Services and cross-functional teams with clear processes, documentation, and training Establish and enforce policies, standards, and controls that meet security, compliance, and audit requirements, while balancing governance with employee experience Leverage systems and data to improve asset visibility, reporting, and decision-making, driving insights that reduce risk, optimize costs, and support continuous improvement You Have: 7+ years of experience in IT Asset Management, Endpoint Engineering, or related fields Proven experience designing and scaling asset management systems or platforms in complex, enterprise environments Experience balancing systems design with operational ownership, ensuring processes are both well-designed and consistently executed Strong experience with: ITAM/CMDB platforms (e.g., Jira Assets, ServiceNow, Teqtivity, or similar) Identity systems (e.g., Okta, Entra ID) MDM tools (e.g., Jamf, Workspace ONE, Intune) Deep understanding of asset lifecycle management, including procurement, inventory tracking, compliance, and decommissioning Experience building automated, system-driven processes that reduce reliance on manual work Strong knowledge of security and compliance frameworks related to asset management (e.g., SOC 2, ISO, NIST, NIS2) Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional initiatives across IT, Security, Finance, Procurement, and Engineering Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage complex systems and processes Excellent communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively at both technical and executive levels You Are: A systems-oriented asset management leader who is passionate about designing scalable, end-to-end lifecycle solutions Comfortable operating in ambiguity, with the ability to bring clarity, structure, and direction to complex, cross-functional problems Data-driven and quality-focused, using metrics and automation to ensure asset accuracy and continuously improve how systems operate A collaborative partner who builds strong relationships and enables others by translating systems into clear, repeatable processes For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below.
