APAMSA x Vot-ER Partnerships Intern

Responsibilities

• Partnership Growth & Deep Engagement
• Relationship Management: Support the Deputy Director of Partnerships in maintaining high-touch communication with existing partners to increase engagement.
• Expansion: Actively identify and "bring into the fold" new health-related organizations to expand our national footprint beyond current partners.
• Civic Holiday Orchestration: Prepare and execute mobilization strategies and communications assets for Civic Holidays (e.g., National Voter Registration Day, National Voter Education Week, Vote Early Day).
• Emergency Patient Voting (EPV) Program
• Student Mobilization: Organize and train health professional students to facilitate voting access for patients who face unexpected hospitalization during election cycles.
• Resource Development: Create patient-facing educational materials and bedside toolkits to streamline the emergency ballot request process.
• Eligibility & Requirements
• APAMSA Membership: Must be an active member of the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association.
• Academic Credit Requirement. Candidates must provide documentation from their
• institution confirming they will receive course credit for this internship.
• Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate complex advocacy goals to diverse health professionals.
• Remote Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment, meeting deadlines and managing multiple workstreams via digital tools (Slack, Zoom, CRM).
• Demonstrated commitment to racial equity and inclusion.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to gain trust and give respect to others through honesty, integrity, kindness, empathy, and authenticity.
• Acute attention to detail and demonstrated ability to prioritize time to meet deadlines for multiple projects.

Vot-ER and Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association: Partnerships & Civic Health Intern Organization: Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA) Reporting to: Deputy Director of Partnerships Location: Remote Duration: 2026 SUMMER & FALL Compensation: Academic Credit (Required) Expected hours/week = 15 to 20 hours per week Role Overview The Partnerships & Civic Health Intern will serve as a critical link between the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association and Vot-ER, supporting Vot-ER as we continue to grow and deepen relationships with health institutions across the country. This role is designed for a proactive, detail-oriented student leader who is passionate about the intersection of health and democracy. You will be responsible for deepening current organizational ties, onboarding new partners, and spearheading a specialized initiative focused on the Emergency Patient Voting (EPV) Program.
