About the role

This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, Office of the Federal Register (OFR). The incumbent carries out assignments designed to further develop and fine-tune technical skills and judgmental aspects of the work associated with the Unit to which the employee is assigned, and the overall operations of the OFR. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience for the GS-09: You must have at least one year of experience at the GS-07 grade level, or equivalent, that is typically in or related to the position and which equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience: Analyzing technical and/or complex written documents developed by others, to confirm compliance with regulations, policies and/or procedures; AND Reviewing written documents for adherence to style, formatting and grammatical requirements; AND Communicating information to internal and/or external audiences. OR EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D. Education MUST be in a related field and must include a total of 15 semester hours in an appropriate scientific, technical, or social science field(s), and at least one course above the introductory level in the field(s) covered by the position. For technical manuals and specifications writers or editors, the equivalent of 15 semester hours may have been gained through vocational or educational training above the high school level at a public, private, or Armed Forces school. OR COMBINATION: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours may be combined with experience. Credit will be given for partial experience so long as specialized experience and or required education or training meet or exceed the minimum level required for the position. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
