Postdoctoral Fellow, Centre for Environment and Ageing Well (ENgAGE)

Responsibilities

• Contribute to conceptualising research projects and developing competitive research grant proposals.
• Assist to the preparation and co-authoring of academic publications, reports, and policy briefs.
• Conduct literature reviews to support project development and scholarly writing.
• Support the development of research frameworks, methodologies, and study designs for projects related to ageing, built environment, and wellbeing.
• Contribute to the intellectual development of ENgAGE's research agenda, including identifying emerging topics and potential research directions.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Architecture, Urban Planning, Urban Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Demonstrated research expertise in one or more of the following areas: ageing in place, built environment and health, dementia-related environments, inclusive urban planning, climate resilience and ageing.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience.
• Strong research and analytical skills (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods).
• Evidence of scholarly writing and publication potential.
• Experience with GIS preferred.
• Experience working in interdisciplinary research environments will be advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.

Research Themes: The Postdoctoral Fellow will contribute to the intellectual development of ENgAGE's research agenda across three interconnected themes: Ageing in Place in Asia, Design for Brain Health, and Climate Change and Ageing. Position Overview: The Centre for Environment and Ageing Well (ENgAGE) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow to support the Centre's research development and scholarly activities. The Postdoctoral Fellow will work closely with the Centre Director to assist in the conceptualisation of research initiatives, development of grant proposals, and production of scholarly outputs including journal articles, policy reports, and research papers. The position also provides opportunities for the Fellow to develop independent research directions aligned with ENgAGE's thematic priorities, contributing to the Centre's long-term intellectual trajectory. The Centre particularly welcomes applicants who are interested in developing novel research directions at the intersection of environment, ageing, and societal transformation in Asia.
