We perform routine echocardiograms, exercise stress echocardiograms, and TEEs. We perform our TEEs in the cath lab and in the operating room. We have a close working relationship with the cardiologists, where communication is essential. As a Cardiac Sonographer in the ECHO Lab you will be responsible for performing portable exams throughout the facility. You will be responsible for quickly and confidently responding to requests to perform STAT exams in a fast-paced environment. Location: Banner Desert Medical Center. 1400 S Dobson Rd. Schedule Details: Full time, 4 10hr shifts, rotating weekends. Ideal Candidate : Will be experienced Cardiac Sonographer (clearly reflected in attached resume); Will have BLS certification (attached to application); and ARDMS or CCI certified preferred, but open to those CCI eligible and New Grads . POSITION SUMMARY This position, acting as a specialized ultrasound technologist, aids in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac conditions in patients, playing a central role in detecting issues related to the heart, including heart malfunctions and in supporting the physicians as they develop diagnosis and treatment plans. CORE FUNCTIONS 1. Performs procedures by following and verifying referring providers' orders. Uses independent judgment and applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures. Oversees Heart Clinic echocardiographic services, ensuring quality of performance. Accountable for the oversight and application of scanning protocols and quality measures, following the guidelines of ASE or IAC. 2. Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed. Demonstrates professional behavior and conduct in all interactions; fosters teamwork, efficient use of resources and quality patient outcomes. 3. Performs high quality images and presents them for timely interpretation, ensuring accurate documentation. Performs exams and imaging duties by providing preliminary clinical findings to the supervising physicians. Also provides valuable and timely preliminary findings to the Cardiologists or Cardiac surgeons. 4. Demonstrates competence in performing prescribed invasive/interventional procedures in accordance with established policies. 5. Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance. Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel and visitors. Adheres to safety policies. 6. Accountable for the ethical, legal, professional and certification responsibilities related to the practice. This includes maintaining confidentiality of all work information. 7. Assures the efficient operation of workflow in the department.
