The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing day-to-day operational accounting activities and month-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions for select operational units of the Company. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the integrity of financial information in the general ledger and participates in integration of acquired companies into the accounting function. The Senior Accountant supports the accounting team management with implementation of standardized processes, key performance indicators (KPIs), and controls and procedure documentation with a shared services mindset. The Senior Accountant will: Perform full-cycle accounting and month-end close activities for select operational units of the Company, enabling timely and accurate financial reporting. Collaborate with other members of the accounting team in reviewing and posting transactional batches, prepare journal entries, balance inter-company accounts, and complete account reconciliations and other month-end close deliverables. Collaborate with various departments to gather and record financial data, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Maintain effective internal control processes to safeguard company assets and ensure financial data integrity. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Support the external audit process by providing necessary documentation and analysis. Participate in integration of acquired companies into accounting function. identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to streamline accounting operations. Support project delivery and automation initiatives, as required. Contribute to a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Other duties as assigned. To be successful as a Senior Accountant with People Corporation, you will need: CPA designation or equivalent certification in good standing, or in the process of obtaining a CPA designation. Work experience with a major accounting firm is preferred. Minimum of 3 years of progressive and relevant accounting experience, with specific experience in month-end close processes. Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards. Solid knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems; proficiency in using Workday considered an asset. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate financial data. Attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and support change activities aligned to the Company's priorities. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong planning and organization skills, including managing and coordinating month-end tasks. Acquisition and integration experience would be considered an asset.
