The postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Internal Medicine at Saint Louis University School of Medicine will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary research team focused on chronic kidney disease prevention and treatment. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing research projects while also pursuing their own research agenda in line with the department's objectives. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Conducting research on the kidney protective mechanisms of SGLT2 inhibitors using mice models of kidney diseases. Contributing to the development of uremic toxin measurements in mice and human. Collaborating with faculty and staff on research design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation. Writing reports and academic papers for publication in relevant journals. Participating in grant writing and seeking funding opportunities. Engaging in interdisciplinary collaboration within the department and with external partners. Assisting in the mentorship of graduate and undergraduate students involved in research projects. Adhering to ethical guidelines and regulations governing research involving human subjects. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Doctoral degree in a relevant field (e.g., Physiology and Medicine) with a strong background in quantitative research methods. Experience conducting research in vivo and in vitro. Proficiency in statistical analysis software such as Stata, R, or SAS. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. Demonstrated commitment to advancing kidney and cardiovascular health research. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
