These positions is hybrid but requires you to work in-person on site weekly and is based in London, Ontario. These positions are deemed critical replacement vacancies. Why this Role is Important Reporting to the Manager, Student Accountability, the Student Accountability and Investigations Specialist plays a critical role in fostering a safe, respectful, and accountable learning environment at Fanshawe. The Student Rights and Responsibilities Office supports this institutional goal by ensuring that concerns related to non‑academic student behaviour are addressed through fair, consistent, and legally sound processes. Drawing on strong, investigative, policy, and/or legislative expertise, the Specialist conducts impartial fact-finding processes, analyzes evidence, and prepares investigation reports that support institutional decision-making related to student accountability. Through restorative resolution processes, education, and collaboration with campus partners, the role contributes to a coordinated institutional approach to student conduct while helping the College identify emerging risks, mitigate institutional liability, and promote a safe and respectful campus community. How You'll Make an Impact Investigation of Non-Academic Student Misconduct Receive and review reports of alleged non-academic student misconduct Conduct initial case assessment to determine jurisdiction under the Student Code of Conduct and identify the appropriate resolution pathway (investigation, restorative resolution, referral to another office, or other institutional processes) Apply multiple policies and legislative requirements during initial case assessment and triage (including FIPPA, non-academic misconduct, sexual violence, human rights, free speech, acceptable use of technology, etc.) to accurately identify appropriate jurisdiction and investigatory steps Determines how to address student conduct cases using knowledge and expertise pertaining to a wide array of relevant policies and practices, as well as knowledge of how various policies inter-relate and where one policy may have precedence over other Initiate conduct investigations in accordance with College policy and procedural fairness principles, including issuing or coordinating notices of allegation and outlining the investigation process to respondents and other parties Conduct impartial investigations by interviewing complainants, respondents, and witnesses and gathering relevant information in a manner that is respectful, trauma-informed, and consistent with institutional policies and applicable legislation Collect, review, and analyze relevant evidence including written statements, institutional records, security reports, electronic communications, social media content, and available video or other documentation Liaise with internal stakeholders to support investigations, including Centre for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, Campus Security, Information Technology, Residence, Counselling, Academic Divisions, and other College departments, to gather information for investigations (as relevant and appropriate) and to refer for additional support Assess the credibility and reliability of information gathered during investigations and synthesize evidence to establish findings of fact Prepare comprehensive investigation reports summarizing the allegations, investigation steps, relevant evidence, and findings of fact and recommendations for review by the Manager, Student Accountability Identify and communicate potential
