Maintanence Mechanic Leader

About the role

You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic Leader in the INSTALLATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL DIVISION of MCLB ALBANY GA. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE assigned employees by utilizing knowledge, skills, and abilities in coordinating, coaching, facilitating, consensus-building, and planning techniques. (2.) Installs, repairs or replaces, modifies, loads, and tests new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, panels, switches, breakers, and controls located in and near installation buildings and structures. Works on secondary distribution lines and circuits used to supply distribution panels, switchgears, power and control circuits, electrical intrusion alarm and fire alarm systems; emergency warning systems; cathodic protection systems; high intensity lighting systems; and related equipment. Trains and/or guides lower grade or lesser experienced employees as required. (3.) Troubleshoots problem areas and inspects for defective equipment and faulty wiring. Works from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and maintenance and repair manuals to determine the necessary and proper repairs and/or replacements. (4.) Uses and maintains various types of hand and/or power tools, such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, soldering irons, cable pullers, hydraulic benders, and pipe threading machines. In addition, uses a wide variety of test equipment, including test lamps, multimeters, circuit analyzers, circuit breaker testers, voltage recording meters, meggers, watt meters, ohmmeters, and ammeters.
