Responsibilities

  • Maintain up to date knowledge of loan program updates & internal credit policy requirements
  • Provide coverage for Home Equity Scenario Desk, responding to questions that include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Home Equity guideline questions
  • Occupancy questions
  • Income Calculation questions
  • Complex loan scenarios
  • Home Equity policies and procedures
  • Document common scenarios and create QRG/FAQs to support MLOs, Underwriters, Customer Experience Team, and Processors.
  • Tasked with SOP ownership & updates to the HE UW Department.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and provide input(s) on process improvements.
  • Assist Home Equity Underwriting Managers with reviewing Quality Assurance findings and providing feedback or targeted training to the HE Underwriting team.
  • Work alongside Processing Leadership to identify cross-functional opportunities for both teams.
  • Ownership of addressing Internal Audit findings & remediation.
  • Act as a liaison between Credit Policy & Underwriters for credit exceptions in situations where UW Management may be unavailable.
  • Monthly review of credit policy exception requests & make recommendations for future credit policy revision.
  • Act as another point of reference for the underwriting team if the UW Management may be unavailable.
  • Work with Closing on issue management
  • COCs - act as an escalation point if rush COC has been submitted & Underwriter has no capacity.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of home lending underwriting experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to provide accurate and timely support in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred Qualification:
  • Experience in Home Equity.
