Responsibilities

  • Utilize Chevron and Industry Engineering Standards
  • Use a minimum functional objective (MFO) approach and utilize variance process to challenge Chevron standards when appropriate.
  • Support the design, troubleshooting, analysis and installation of process piping, pipelines, vessels and rotating equipment.
  • Developing mechanical discipline deliverables (e.g. P&IDs, process flow diagram, area plot plans, dig plans, isometric drawings)
  • Support the management of change process for mechanical design packages and associated changes.
  • Delivery of mechanical engineering construction work package meeting the applicable mechanical design specifications. This will require collaboration with Operations, Maintenance and Technical functions within Chevron's assets.
  • Participating and contributing to safety reviews (HazOps, HazAn, etc.), as applicable
  • Managing multiple project deliverables concurrent
  • Provide guidance for technical inquiries, issue technical recommendations, provide equipment and system troubleshooting, improve engineering tools and support the development and improvement of mechanical engineering work processes.
  • Required Qualifications:
  • 3 years minimum on site-based facility experience
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical or civil engineering (B.E.) from a deemed/recognized (AICTE) university
  • 5-10 years of Oil & Gas or Petrochemicals industry experience
  • Experience executing greenfield and/or brownfield projects in onshore, upstream, oil and gas facilities

Requirements

  • Technical Knowledge: Design Management Understands facility design work processes, and procedures. Experienced in engineering facilities design as it relates to one or more of the following:
  • Strong knowledge of system interfaces and systems engineering, project execution, CPMS processes and tools. Demonstrable knowledge of engineering design execution on past projects.
  • Understands potential areas for cross-discipline and cross-functional gaps on capital projects. Demonstrable knowledge of engineering design execution on past projects

Additionally, this role provides remote technical support for operations, turnaround scope development, and various projects. The Mechanical Project Facility Engineer is part of the Projects Design Engineering organization within the Chevron ENGINE center. This role provides mechanical design support to Chevron's Shale and Tight onshore assets and is responsible for supporting the analysis and development of mechanical engineering solutions for brownfield and greenfield projects. Additionally, this role provides remote technical support for operations, turnaround scope development, and various projects. Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.
