Additional Information
AWS Databases is where some of the hardest unsolved problems in distributed systems, storage engines, and open-source databases are being tackled at global scale. Aurora, ElastiCache, Neptune, and our broader portfolio serve millions of customers - and the teams building them need exceptional talent to keep pushing forward. We're looking for a Sourcing Recruiter who is energized by the hunt - someone who thrives in niche, hyper-competitive technical markets and knows how to find, engage, and inspire passive talent that most recruiters can't reach. This isn't requisition-filling. This is pipeline architecture for some of the most specialized engineering roles in cloud infrastructure. Key job responsibilities -Build sourcing strategies from scratch for senior and principal-level roles across database engines, distributed systems, query optimization, replication, and open-source ecosystems. -Find people others can't - through deep research, creative sourcing campaigns, target company mapping, and referral engineering. -Lead sourcing sessions with engineering teams to extract signal, generate referrals, and build conviction around candidate profiles. -Own pipeline health - maintain accurate candidate records, track sourcing metrics, and communicate progress and market insights to stakeholders with clarity and consistency. -Partner closely with hiring managers to understand deeply technical requirements and translate them into actionable search strategies. -Raise the bar for the team - contribute to sourcing best practices, training, and process improvements that make the whole org better. A day in the life You open your day reviewing pipeline movement and market signals. By mid-morning you're deep in a sourcing session with a Neptune engineering lead, mapping the graph database talent landscape and identifying candidates working on adjacent open-source projects. After lunch, you're engaging a passive candidate who's contributed to PostgreSQL internals - crafting outreach that speaks to the specific problems Aurora is solving. You close the day syncing with your recruiting partners on strategy adjustments, sharing what's working, and updating stakeholders on pipeline health.
