About the role

As a Support Worker, you will work directly with people in their homes and in the community. You will be expected to support people with a variety of needs, enabling them to live the lives they want. Duties will include: - Building great relationships with people we support and the people important to their lives - Promoting choice and participation when supporting people with daily tasks - Co-creating opportunities for people to try new things and offering information to support people to make their own choices - Offering personalised support by working with people's strengths to build their confidence and overcome obstacles with the aim of achieving their goals - Encouraging people to participate in activities that bring them joy and meaning About you We recognise that everyone, regardless of their personal history, has talents, abilities and unique personal qualities. To be a Support Worker at Certitude, it is essential you: - Support people who may challenge (verbally, physically), particularly people on the autistic spectrum - Keep calm and confident in challenging situations - Experience in Positive Behaviour Support - Experience of enabling people with a learning disability/autism to take positive risks in their lives - Possess a manual driving licence and be able to drive a 7-seater van - Knowledge of the Transforming Care Agenda You will be given training, development and coaching to help you feel confident in providing great support and to help you advance in your career.
